ASFAR Virtual Book Fair to open 24 January with +100 publishers

Cairo, January 24, 2021: Under the slogan “Order a book from anywhere to anywhere”, Asfar Virtual Book Fair (AVBF) launches today as the first virtual simulation of book fairs experience in the MENA region.

The philosophy behind AVBF has three pillars: First: The availability of the largest possible count of publishers. 100 Egyptian and Arab publishers participate in AVBF, as well as several original second-hand book vendors, in addition to several vendors of accessories and gifts. Second: Some cultural and book signing events will be held. Third: Virtually simulating the experience in a way that ensures minimal human contact to comply with COVID19 health regulations, and at the same time ensures smooth online user experience. A reader orders any count of books via an e-commerce platform from anywhere to anywhere in Egypt as well as most countries. The events have the same concept; the whole experience is virtual.

AVBF is organised and logistically managed by Asfar Operations Room. Asfar is a startup company held in Egypt and provides technical, marketing and logistical solutions to the publishing market with its two sides; the publishers and the readers.
